Kyra Botanica Teas

It seems like everyone is into herbal tea these days and I have to admit its a pretty recent love for me. I tend to be pretty basic in most areas of my life and tea has never been the exception until as of late. Now I find myself moving from the basic plain jane tea, with a little lemon and honey, to a wide variety of herbal blends. However, I've always stuck to bagged tea and never felt the need to move toward loose leaf until I ran across this Etsy Shop. You can order just one tea but there were so many I wanted to try that I did four which will save you money.

The packaging is nice and it is shipped in a double box so it would make for a good gift although the presentation would have been nicer with a ribbon or twine instead of yarn the contents more than make up for it.

The pictures in her shop do these teas real justice and I wasn't disappointed in the least bit by what I saw and actually received. The come sealed and she makes these when she receives your order so you know they're fresh and not made in massive quantities stored in a room somewhere. They look absolutely gorgeous.

Holy Basil Renewal Tea:

Milky Oats, Holy Basil, Hawthorne Berries, & Licorice

Lavender Lemonade:

Lavender, Lemon Peel, Lemon Balm, Lemongrass, & Orange Peel.

Artemis Dream Tea:

Spearmint, Lemon Balm, Mugwort, Hops, Lavender, Chamomile, & Fennel

Day 1 Tea:

Yarrow, Rasberry Leaf, Milky Oats, White Peony, Ginger, Cinnamon, & Hawthorn Berries.

I can't wait to try all of these and since I don't have a tea diffuser I will be using my French Press. Most of these teas take anywhere from 10-20 minutes to steep and I'd rather do more than one serving at a time since I typically drink my tea iced this time of year anyways. Although I may try the Day 1 Tea hot since its for the first day of your period and may be more soothing that way.

Each of these teas normally run $10 a piece but for all four it was $34 + $4 shipping. It saved me a bunch on shipping to do it this way. She has plenty more so check her out and I'll let you know how amazing these blends taste cause they sure look amazing.

T.J.Maxx Haul April 2014

I'm really beginning to fall head over heals for T.J.Maxx this year. I'm really loving what they've been getting in and walked out today with a little more than I went in for but left very happy!

I'm really getting into herbal tea and love the Yogi teas but I'm trying to expand my horizons and these looked amazing. Yogi tea can be a bit pricey if you're not ordering from Vitacost, which I do, so when I saw these priced at $3.99 for 20 bags instead of 16 like Yogi it seemed like a pretty good deal.

The Sleepy Me is Organic and Caffeine Free and contains: Organic Lavender buds, organic Hop leaves, organic Lemon balm and organic Valerian roots.

Price: $3.99 Compare At: $8.00

The Youthful Me is Organic and Caffeine Free with: Organic Rosehip, organic Sea Buckthorn berries, organic Blueberries and organic Blackberries.

Price: $3.99 Compare At: $8.00

I have been looking for culinary grace Lavender buds and was over the moon when I saw these.
These are the Pepper Creek Farms French Blue Lavender Whole buds 1 oz.

Price: $3.99 Compare At: $5.00
However, if you go on their website they're actually $6.99 so score!

I have been needing a good eye cream but generally speaking they don't work for me at all. So for $5 I couldn't pass up this Bliss Baggage Handler Eye Gel.

Price: $9.99 but on Clearance for $5.00 Compare at: $18.00

Now these next items are all cruelty free. I was surprised, one I didn't intentionally pick them out because they were so lucky me!, and I didn't realize T.J.Maxx was sporting so many cruelty free items.

First up are these hand creams by Olivina Napa Valley. They contain no parabens, no phthalates, no petroleum, so SLS and are Vegetable based.

Price: $1.99 Compare at: $7.99

As you can see on the back they do not do animal testing.

I'm very pleased with the price point on these. If you look at their online store their 1 oz hand creams came run anywhere from $4.50 to $9.00 so $1.99 is amazing especially since these contain Shea Butter & Essential Oils.

Price: $1.99 Compare at: $7.99

They actually say they do not contain animal products but this contains milk lipids which I would consider contradictory. So if your vegan its not gonna work especially with the honey. It doesn't bother me but it makes you wonder how they get away with saying that.

Price: $1.99 Compare at: $7.99

Thies Olivia Care Natural Olive Oil Hand Soap in Lavender has very sleek packaging in my opinion and really caught my eye.

Price: $4.99 Compare at: $10.00

Its Cruelty Free, Hypo-Allergenic, Aromatherapy, and No Coloring.
It has Olive Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil, Tea Tree Leaf Oil, Rosemary Leaf Extract, and Sage Leaf Extract. Can't wait to try it out.

Last but not least is the C. Booth Simple Natural Trusted Strawberry Fields Body Scrub & Cleanser with Walnut shell powder and Strawberry extract. I actually got this for my daughter if its not too rough on her skin. She loves strawberry!

Price: $4.99 Compare at: $6.99

As you can see its cruelty free as well and I may steel it from her from time to time.
